Let's Help Send the 8th Grade to Chicago!
Thanks to Dean and Priscilla in Ojo Sarco, the Blue Spring Orchard apple harvest (100-200 bushels) has been made available to the 8th grade, for fund raising towards end of the year trip. You can find info. about the orchard at www.bluespringorchard.blogspot.com.
Fresh apple cider, from apples picked and pressed by the 8th grade under the guidance of Mikayla's dad Ron Boyd, is available to pre-order.
Please sign up outside your classroom to pre-order cider for $8 per half gallon.
Create for yourself a new, indomitable perception of faithfulness. What is usually called faithfulness passes so quickly. Let this be your faithfulness:
You will experience moments...fleeting moments...with the other person. The human being will appear to you then as if filled, irradiated with the archetype of his spirit.
And then there may be....indeed, will be, other moments, long periods of time, when human beings are darkened. But you will learn to say to yourself at such times: the Spirit makes me strong. I remember the archetype - I saw it once. No illusion, no deception, shall rob me of it.
Always struggle for the image that you saw. This struggle is faithfulness. Striving thus for faithfulness, we shall be close to one another, as if endowed with the protective power of angels."
Come one, come all to the annual Taos Waldorf School Harvestfest!!!
Festivities are this Friday (that's tomorrow) from 5p to 7p at school in the big play yard. It's a potluck, so bring something you love to eat and to share. Please bring tableware for your family.
It will be a "music potluck" as well, so if you are a musician of any kind please bring your instrument, your voice, and your good cheer. We will see what gets cooked up. And don't forget the ever-popular sack races and field games!

Dear Taos Waldorf community,
My name is Andy Salamone, and I am the newly-elected president of the Taos Waldorf School Board of Trustees. Our school year has gotten off to a vibrant and exciting start, and as we begin to settle in to our new fall routines, I thought it might be helpful to give the parent body an update on some of the inspiring things that have been taking place in our school community and to talk a little bit about the overall functioning of the school.
If you were at our fabulous all-school gathering and ice cream social last week, some of this is going to be repeat information, but there's new news within as well.
Visit our booth at the Taos Farmer's Market every Saturday morning from now through the end of the season. TWS community members new and old alike have joined forces to put together some great produce, jams, chutneys, and other fun items that will last through this winter and beyond. Proceeds go to fund the tuition of students otherwise not able to pay, and also to the Teacher Care Fund.
It's a great way to support the school, get out for some sunshine and fresh air on a Saturday morning, and run into some friends.
SEEKING SUPPLIES: the Farmer's Market team is always on the lookout for new and/or used jars, pectin, and other canning equipment. Please see Stacy Hammond or Guiditta O'Rourke for details.
Snow days! Same as the public schools, listen to KTAO (101.9FM) for updates. Let it snow, let it snow!!!
